The Scottish Commission for Human Rights (SCHR)
The Scottish Commission for Human Rights is responsible for promoting human rights in Scotland; it shares this responsibility with the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Whilst equality is included in the remit of the SCHR, the promotion and enforcement of the specific equality laws remains the responsibility of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
The Scottish Commission for Human Rights is currently being established, the first chair person was appointed in November 2007 and the rest of the commission is currently being recruited.
