The Centre set up in 1991 to take forward race equality in Scottish school education has in recent years taken leadership by writing the content of materials supporting areas like anti-sectarianism, tackling Islamophobia and gender.

From April 2009, CERES will be working on the following areas:

  • Pulling together a portfolio of seminars and CPD sessions for teachers, headteachers, education managers and other education practitioners.  Click here to see a ‘sample’ of titles on offer = downloads as a pdf file.
  • Engaging in research in the following areas:
    • Teacher Education Students’ Understanding of Social Justice Issues
    • Black/Minority ethnic parents, communities and organizational views on the impact of race equality on Scottish schools
