FirstClass

FirstClass is the Communication and e-Learning Software used by the Moray House School of Education at the University of Edinburgh.

It has many additional features other than sending and receiving emails. Individual courses, year of study groups, and electives etc each have separate conference folders. These conferences contain course work and other useful information. You will automatically have access to the conference folders relating to your course work.

FirstClass also has a Student Notice Board where you can share information with fellow students.

Each account has a calendar, which you can use to store timetable information as well as personal appointments.

FirstClass also offers a web page facility. This facility enables you to ‘post’ your files to your individual web folder; which allows the files to be accessed via the World Wide Web.

To access FirstClass from the computer labs in the University you should locate and double click on the FirstClass email icon. On the Apple Macintosh computers this is located on the computer desktop. On the PC computers go to Start menu > All programs > Email > FirstClass.

You can also access your FirstClass account using the web client. To log-in via the web go to https://morayhouse.education.ed.ac.uk and enter your user id and password, and click on Login.

For further help with FirstClass go to the FirstClass Q&A folder which is located inside the Student Conference Folder.

Instructions for setting email forward for Macintosh and for for PC.
