The number of children in Scotland diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed stimulant medication continues to increase dramatically.

This national conference addressed many of the critical issues surrounding ADHD, contributing significantly to thinking about intervention, treatment and support for children and young people with attention and behaviour difficulties.

The conference took place on Thursday 15 March 2007, 10.00am - 4.00pm, at Our Dynamic Earth, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for those expressly interested in the primary mathematics stages and the key ideas of developing mathematical thinking.

International Professional Development Association (IPDA) Scotland Seminar

The ipda is the principal forum for all who are interested in and concerned for the provision and delivery of high quality CPD. Members come from schools, Higher and Further Education, from training organisations, from Local Education Authorities and from a range of professions.

The IPDA Scotland Seminar was held on Wednesday 21 June 2006 at the Menzies Belford Hotel, Edinburgh. The keynote speakers were Professor Walter Humes and Francesca Brotto.

Problem Girls Conference
Friday 24 March 2006, The Moray House School of Education, Edinburgh

Our second successful conference on the theme of ‘Problem’ Girls. Last years conference, focussed on research and understanding the key issues, whereas this years conference provided an opportunity to concentrate on practice. Participants explored a range of approaches to working with troubled and troublesome girls and young women through stimulating keynote presentations and a selection of ‘hands-on’ workshops.

Physical Education Conference
Moving Towards the Heart of the Scottish Primary School Curriculum

This conference, held on 16 June 2005 at The Moray House School of Education, Edinburgh, was aimed at all those working to support and deliver quality physical education experiences in Scottish primary schools.
