Introduction to CPD


The Moray House School of Education has extensive experience in providing a wide range of professional development courses in the fields of education, community education services, TESOL, and in many sports-related fields. The School of Education is also, along with a number of new partnerships, currently providing the acclaimed Chartered Teacher Programme. We also offer a new range of Additional Support for Learning (ASL) programmes. Other CPD courses are listed below along with our forthcoming conferences and seminars.

SQH


The School of Education has made a significant contribution to the development and implementation of the Scottish Qualification for Headship (SQH). Further information is available on the SQH website.

 

Specially Designed Courses


The Moray House School of Education is involved in the design and delivery of many specially designed short courses and consultancy activity for schools, authorities and industry. Many of these are planned in response to specific requests from employers and agencies. 'A Study of the Induction Scheme for Beginning Secondary Teachers in Scotland' | Fiona Christie, Janet Draper and Jim O’Brien

Examining the Induction Scheme from a variety of different angles but with a focus on the experience of probationers and their supporters, this study illuminates the workings of the first year of one of the most significant recent developments in Scottish education. The study also provides an overview of the Induction Scheme and is designed to serve as the basis for professional dialogue on ways to build on the achievements of the first year.

CPD Events Booking Conditions


Booking terms and conditions for all our CPD events are as follows:

    • The Moray House School of Education change dates and tutors if required.
    • Confirmation of booking and further event details will be sent out in advance of event date.
    • Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the event date will be subject to the full course fee.
    • All notification of cancellations should be made in writing to the CPD Office and will apply from the date received.
    • If cancellation notice is not provided in writing and you do not attend the event to which you booked then the full fee will apply.

The Moray House School of Education appreciates that it may be difficult for some teachers to travel to Edinburgh in time for an afternoon course. We would, however, be happy to run versions of these courses in your area if there is sufficent demand from your school or local authority.
