Barcelona Workshop on IT Policy & Strategy
In November 2002, SCROLLA Edinburgh was involved in organising a two-day workshop on IT policy and strategy for the eLearning Task Force of the Coimbra Group of European universities, held at the University of Barcelona. As Task Force chair and SCROLLA co-director Jeff Haywood said, "Our aim with this workshop is to discuss such questions as: Where are our universities going with eLearning? Where should we and could we go? Do our universities have a vision, and how can we as staff members contribute? ... Do we have to rethink learning and teaching?"
The proceedings were edited into report form by SCROLLA's Rory Ewins with input from other workshop co-ordinators, and presented to the Coimbra Group in April this year. It contains a series of action points intended for the Group itself, but also considerable material of interest to others concerned with higher education IT policy.
