The SEUSISS Survey of Staff and Student ICT Skills
For the past two years, SCROLLA Edinburgh have been part of SEUSISS (Survey of European Universities Skills in ICT of Students and Staff), a multinational project funded by the European Commission under the Socrates Programme. The project team has collected information about the ICT experience, skills, confidence and attitudes of students and academic staff at seven partner universities across Europe. It also worked with senior university management to ascertain which ICT skills they expect their students, graduates and staff to have, and what their strategies were to achieve them. Major and local employers of graduates were also interviewed about the ICT skills they observed among and expected of new recruits.
The project's final report, containing significant input from SCROLLA Edinburgh, was delivered in April 2003, and is now available in PDF form from the SEUSISS website. Printed versions are also available on request.
