Professional Qualifications
The following qualifications, which are the recognised National Governing Body awards in each of the disciplines, are essential for certain aspects of my work and are in some cases a legal requirement. Several of the awards (in the teaching of mountaineering, canoeing and skiing) are the highest-level UK awards in the disciplines and require many years of personal skill development and teaching to attain. In a field in which practical and teaching competence is of the utmost importance for safe and professional practice, current awareness and involvement, and maintenance of a high professional and technical reputation is essential.
