The courses will not only provide you with additional subject knowledge, we will also help provide you with the important information required to help make your application to a teacher education programme easy and effective.

Realise your ambitions and become a secondary teacher. We offer Top-Up courses in maths.

Our part-time (evening class/distance learning) top-up courses are available now and are a tremendous new opportunity for you to top up existing subject credits within your degree and help you achieve the minimum entry qualifications necessary to apply to do a PGDE Secondary Mathematics programme.

We expect applicants will come from a variety of backgrounds but you will share a common ambition and drive to actively pursue a teaching career or enhance your own subject knowledge and professional development.

You may be looking for a career change into teaching and think now is the time to start planning to achieve this goal.

You may have recently completed your university degree and have decided that you would now like to pursue a secondary teaching career.

For example, you may recently have qualified with an Engineering related degree that already contains 40 credits of Mathematics. To meet the minimum PGDE Secondary Maths entry requirement you would need to top-up these credits to 80, therefore you would undertake 4 maths, 10 credit top-up courses.

Don't worry if you are unsure about the credits you currently have, as our admissions staff will be happy to help and advise you.
