Abstract |
This evaluation is being undertaken by a small team of evaluators seconded from the University to the Scottish Government and embedded in the Development Team for 'Getting it right for every child', in the 'Children Young People and Social Care Directorate'.
'Getting it right for every child' is a cross-sectoral approach to children's
services, developed by the Scottish Government to provide a better life for every
child and to enable all children to fulfil their potential. It builds on earlier
initiatives to integrate services for children and families and is designed to
be applicable across all levels of need. It aims to direct and enhance the focus
of all key services and agencies which provide support for children and families
on the needs of the child first and foremost and through this aims to work towards
better outcomes for the nation's children.
The approach began as aspirational, frameworked by the Government's Wellbeing
Indicators for all children (i.e. that children are as safe, healthy, achieving,
nurtured, active, responsible, respected and included as possible) and the National
Outcomes that relate to outcomes for children, particularly Outcome 4 (i.e.
that children and young people are successful learners, confident individuals,
effective contributors and responsible citizens). |
