Abstract

The primary aims of the research project were:
to review the legislative and policy framework for provision of services for minority ethnic families and families where English is an additional language.
to review the research base already in existence in this area.
to review existing services in Edinburgh and what they are designed to deliver.
to review of relevance, scope and scale of existing services in relation to needs and identification of the gaps.
to review the access to services and the issues in relation to this.
to develop recommendations for a strategy on developing the service to better meet needs of minority ethnic families and to improve access.
