The
EUCEBS project will pilot in training centres and workplaces a competence-based
European Certificate in Basic Skills covering 6 domains: Communication,
ICT, Numeracy, Learning to Learn, Interpersonal Skills and Citizenship.
We are seeking endorsement for the Certificate from the qualifications-awarding
bodies of EU member states, will provide validation of the Certificate
on-line in a number of European languages. The University of Edinburgh
is leadsite with partners in the Universita di Catania and the Consorzio
Universitario della Provincia di Ragusa, Italy; Deutches Rotes Kreuz,
Bremen, Germany; Kerry Education Services, Ireland; Edinburgh University
Settlement, UK; Centre Populaire d'Enseignement, France; Colegiul
Universitar din Drobeta Turnu Severin, Romania; Andragoski center
Slovenije, Slovenia; CEJAK, Barcelona, Spain.
The e-portfolio is a web based information management system that uses
electronic media and services. By placing the learner at the centre of
their learning, e-portfolios have the potential to dramatically alter
learning pedagogy. Currently research theme include: use of the e-portfolio
in adult basic skills certification, how e-portfolios affect students'
understanding of their learning and exploring ways to homogenise everyday
web community technologies and practises enhancing the e-portfolio model. |
