Theme 3: Education, Society and Policy

Reseachers and examples of projects

Research within this theme examines the relation of education to social change and the governance and organisation of education, at all levels from the institutional to the supra-national, with particular reference to social inequality. Much of this research is based in the department of Education and Society, which includes the Centre for Educational Sociology, the Centre for Educational Leadership and the Educational Assessment Unit. There are important contributions from other departments including Educational Studies. The research contributes to the AERS Networks on Schools and Social Capital and School Management and Governance.
