Abstract

This project comprises a series of seminars on current policy issues concerning current policy issues in higher education. Each seminar is attended by about 30 senior policy-makers, stakeholders and researchers, and the series is intended to inform policy and practice in the United Kingdom and beyond. The development of distinctive 'national' systems within the UK, the establishment of a 'European Higher Education Area' (the so-called Bologna process) and the impact of globalisation all create a context in which such a review would be well-timed.
