Forthcoming event:
Research Directions in Autism Spectrum Conditions: Sharing Findings and Seeking the Community’s Views
10am – 4pm, Saturday 30th October 2010
The Playfair Library, University of Edinburgh
We are inviting the community of those with ASC and those who support them to come and view our work and discuss possible future directions. In the process, we wish to emphasise that autism is a neurological difference, with identifiable strengths as well as social and communicative challenges.
SARG members will present their research in a large-scale poster display, and will be available to discuss it further. Children and adults with ASC are invited to present their creative work. This can take the form of drawings, paintings, sculpture, poetry or prose.
This is an informal drop-in event. It will include short talks by Hugh O’Donnell (MSP), a member of the ASC community and an academic working in this area. Optional discussion groups will explore the role of research in ASC, challenges and future directions. Display stalls will provide information on ASC support groups and services.
This event is free, but numbers are limited. Participants must register in advance. For further information about the event and how to register please see flyer.
