Biographical Note

I am a Senior Research Fellow who has been continually employed at the University of Edinburgh since 1997, working on over twenty research projects. My research has always been policy based and has been on topics such as Restorative Approaches in schools; disciplinary exclusion from school; multi agency working in schools; ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). I have a particular interest in the relationships between schools and parents/carers, children and young people, especially with those who may be viewed as vulnerable and/or marginal to mainstream schooling. I have taught 'qualitative data analysis' on the MSc Research (Education). Before studying for my MA and PhD I worked in residential care settings with children and young people.
