Biographical Note

After obtaining a Masters degree I worked for three years as a lecturer of Chemistry in the Department of Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Zimbabwe. I worked as a supply teacher in many schools situated in three different Scottish local authorities during my PhD studies. Following the completion of my PhD in 2006 I took up a post as Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Higher and Community Education. I am currently employed as a Lecturer in Evaluation. I am the Course Leader of the Evaluation in Context Course and contribute teaching on the MSc in E-Learning as well as the Management of Training Development (MTD) Masters programme. I supervise the Masters dissertations of several students each year from the MTD programme.

Current and Recent Research

I have recently completed the evaluation of a video empowerment project (Voice of My Own - VOMO) for young people living in the Scottish Borders.

I am currently evaluating the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) E-portfolio pilots programme.

I am also carrying out a Consultation of the issues affecting evaluation in the UK today. This is part of my work as a member of the United Kingdom Evaluation Society.
